Virtual Assistant
WELCOME TO MY WORLD!
Welcome to my world! Virtual Assistance is what I have built my business as an Independent Contractor since 2006. Before becoming a Virtual Assistant, for 6 years before that I built my career as an Executive Administrative Assistant after graduating from college with a BA in International Business.
What is a Virtual Assistant? A virtual assistant is a self-employed administrative or personal assistant who works remotely (usually at home) for various clients. Virtual Assistants usually do the same duties as an Administrative Assistant or in most cases an Executive Assistant because most clients looking for VAs are owners of small businesses. Because of this, VAs are beneficial to companies for one other reason; saving money. When hiring an assistant to work in an office full-time, you are paying for that person for, most times, 8-9 hours a day. Most assistants do not work those full 9 hours a day, there are down times and moments where there may not be anything to do, but as an employer, you are paying for this person to sit in the office ... and get paid!
Different companies/clients have a require different things, some might need a VA just to cover their phones from 8 am - 5 pm, however, they only get about 20 calls a day. Hiring an employee for a case like that would cost the company so much more money, not to mention benefits, than hiring a VA. The VA will only get paid for the time that they are on the phone, or actually doing work, and not a penny more. More companies are hiring VAs just to save time and money, what company wouldn't.
As a Virtual Assistant, I have various skills ranging from receptionist to WordPress management. Some of my skills gear more toward scheduling and logistics, and recently I have been focusing on web-based services like managing email accounts, doing research or social media management. Here are just a few more:
- Upload blogs or email newsletters
- Respond to emails and set up email lists
- Transcribe voice memos, conference calls and more
- Run your calendar and plan your travel
- Research
- Compile data into organized spreadsheets
- Handle forwarded phone calls when you're unavailable or out of town
- Help you hire other employees by doing preliminary research on candidates
- Write and distribute standard business communications
- Prepare presentations
- Manage your social media accounts
- Coordinate with vendors
- Place orders for new supplies
- and much more
If you are looking to save money and hire a Virtual Assistant to supply all of your administrative needs, I can help you with that!
